thousands of photos coming together as one
I enjoy photographing the world around me, capturing the mundane to the unusual. I combine these images with my own designs to make photo mosaics. I aim to create work that is both dynamic and static, and that’s the nature of my photo mosaics: Every time you look at one, you see something new. Your eye catches a glimpse of an image you hadn’t noticed before, and, as you expand your view to see the entire piece, the thousands of unique photographs making up that bigger picture become a beautiful blur.
artwork created using salvaged materials
My mixed media pieces are created from photographs I’ve taken and designs I’ve made, and then inked by hand through my own screen printing process. They are then mounted on salvaged materials, such as cabinet doors and floor boards, taken from buildings in and around Washington, D.C. I often incorporate newspapers, vinyl records, coffee grounds, and other found objects into the background to fit in with each theme and to add another layer of texture.
